I think about Vatican it's rather or partially slanders. It repaired a lot after Vatican II, turned more to people... Well, but if you have a great organization, it may need great financing, and if there is a Dignified Person, he may have some luxury not available to all. (To some extent, it should not be too exaggerated.)
And if there is a great organization, you would find here and there a bad person in it's ranks. It does not mean, that the whole organization is harmful. Most important rather is, which influence does it have on people...
(And to bring it into context - I'm rather something between Catholic and Hussite Christian.)
(And by this also striving to find a difference between "defile the name" of Judaism and of Christian Church or BSA. The main difference is, which impact on morals of adherents does it have overall. And no one desires his "name" or "brand" be stained by fallen figures. But we do not impose penalties and intimidation and slandering like "anti-semitism" against opponent accusations.)

And who peddles these stories about "sex abuse" ? Jewish press and Hœllywood, which (this second one) is morally awful (it's not only Weinstein), and exploiting and damaging people by spiritually deafening them by ever more strong emotions and ever more deprived and vain scenes...
And these are cherry-picking abuse cases in organizations they want to slander and damage, like if elsewhere it did not happen.

Then about "sex abuse" - it's too broad category, today they've enlarged it too wide and there is a substantial difference between penetration and between improper touch of mere caressing, which probably could be tolerable in some circumstances and to some extent. But if it is hidden in broad category "sex abuse", than it's hard to know, what was it really.

Then also - Christine Ford vs. Bret Kavanaugh has shown us, that after some long time there may come just any Liar and smear accusations against innocent person. And in less obvious cases - how do you recognize, who is right and who is lying ? (if woman thinks it was "rape", she should come with accusations immediately, but rather it's usually such, that it was desired at the moment, even if it was done with some gentle force because that is how it usually happens and many love it, but then when she feels lovelorn and abandoned and offended, she may be seeking a way to unjustly revenge. The principle of "presumption of innocence unless proven" must be upheld...)
