Super Bowl Twitter Traffic May Have Been Fake

The majority of traffic on Twitter/X during the Super Bowl may have been fake.

CHEQ, a cybersecurity firm that tracks bots and fake users, said 75.85% of traffic from X directed to its advertising clients' websites during the weekend of the Super Bowl was fake.

"I've never seen anything even remotely close to 50 percent, not to mention 76 percent," CHEQ founder and CEO Guy Tytunovich said.

CHEQ reportedly recently signed an agreement with X to help fight fake users.
