Also as for the RdRp and ORF8 of 4991, which they can’t change without contradicting their original publication in the CNKI thesis: “This is concerning: NCBI Genbank had a 98% (RdRp) and a 97% (ORF8) match with Wuhan-Hu-1 on 05-Jan-20. And we know this two and half years later:” Keep in mind that Hu-1 have the non-ancestral 84L mutation in the ORF8. https://archive.ph/A6cKN None of these releases contained a D501 or T403, either. While the S genes for 7909, 7924, 7905, 7931 were given, the S gene of neither Rspp7896 nor Ra4991 was given (the absence of specifically the Rspp7896 S gene in this clade in the presence of the others, is highly suspect). Alignment of the S protein genes did not lead to a FCS in the S1-S2, S2’, any QTQTNS in the S1-S2 or HV6970. Accession numbers are MH615944.1 to MH615992.1. The first “update” for them Are all Jul 31 2022 on the revision history, making it impossible to rule out “updating” before publication. (The revision history tool seems to only begin to track the status of a record once it have been publicly released, at least according to the “accession was first seen at NCBI on” channel of the revision history browser. Versions show update date as their publish date NOT their claimed “first submission date”.) (Note: the accession numbers were within a continuous series. This indicate that the S genes specifically for Rspp7896 and Ra4991 not only weren’t released at this time of the batch, but that they were never intended to be released—they were never submitted in the first place.) https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/nuccore/?term=Spread+and+Geographic+Structure+of+SARS-related+Coronaviruses+in+++++++++++++Bats+and+the+Origin+of+Human+SARS+Coronavirus Accession numbers are here. Notice that while the RdRp and ORF8 of 4991 and 7896 are there, the S are not. @quay_dr ORF8 accession numbers are MH615800-MH615808 and MH615839-MH615883, where RdRp accession numbers were MH615884-MH615943. Note that there were no gaps between accession numbers, indicating that the 4991 and 7896 S weren’t uploaded at all. Also, guess who’s in the original GenBank record for the RdRp and ORF8?
