The ARNE, or "Ecuadorian Nationalist Revolutionary Action" was a political movement founded in Ecuador in 1942. It was disciplined, militant, and strongly doctrinaire; very unlike other Ecuadorian political parties at the time. In early 1942 a group of students organized and formed the "Companies Functional National Revolutionary Offensive" which would later become the ARNE political movement - which supported Ecuadorian Fascism. The organization was lead by George Moon Yèpes and under his leadership rapidly expanded amongst young Catholics and the industrial sectors. ARNE is regarded as one of the three major political forces in Ecuador in the latter half of the 20th-century. However by 1979, with the fall of the dictatorships, ARNE was ultimately denied legal recognition, and while being somewhat active in the 80s they never regained any major national importance. #politics #knowledgeispower #fascism
