Most people are addicted to the comfort of "planning" because it feels like progress without the risk of failure. In the world of high performance, we call this Productive Procrastination. It’s the act of spending weeks on a logo, months on a business plan, or years "researching" a market before ever making a single sales call. Planning feels safe because, in a plan, you never miss a shot. You never get rejected. You never look like a beginner. But a plan is just a hallucination until it meets reality. The "Planning Trap" manifests in three ways: The Research Loop: Buying another course or book to solve a problem that can only be solved by taking action. The Perfectionist’s Shield: Using "getting it right" as a socially acceptable excuse for being terrified of being judged. The False Finish Line: Feeling the dopamine hit of "organizing" and mistaking it for the satisfaction of "executing." How to break the addiction: The 70% Rule: If you have 70% of the information you need, move. The remaining 30% can only be found through the data of doing. Shorten the Feedback Loop: Stop planning for a year. Plan for a week, execute for a week, and adjust based on the bruises you actually received. Value Reps Over Research: One "bad" video posted is worth more than ten "perfect" scripts sitting in a folder. The market doesn’t reward the best-laid plans; it rewards the person who survived the most iterations. Stop decorating the starting blocks. Start running. #PerformancePsychology #Execution #Mindset #Leadership 📌 Want to know what is behind every great life?
