Not everything available to the public is admissible. So, I looked into it. In this case, we have a video of the attack, which captures the faces of the attackers, and the fact all of them were arrested on the scene. So, as a prosecutor in America I'd be thinking: Great case. The next thing we do is scrutinize the headline a bit. "No verdict" does not mean they were acquitted (at least, in America), it means the jury could not reach a unanimous this decision. As a trial attorney, this tells me that we either have a close case that the two sides could get really dug in on or, more likely, we have a loon on the jury who won't conform to the jury instructions and their role. This was tried at a place called #Woolwich Crown Court in #Thamesmead. This is notable because this Thamesmead's population is >65% non-White. I never practiced in the Yookay, but in America I can tell you these facts, in conjunction with one another, all but confirm the issue was an activist on the jury that didn't think they should be punished for this. It was an attempted jury nullification.
