According to a newly filed federal criminal complaint, Tad Aaron Solomon began communicating with the teenager on Reddit on Sept. 27, 2025 and arranged to meet him in Boise. On Oct. 1, Solomon arrived at the meeting location, where a group of teenage males assaulted him. Police investigating the beating searched the teenager’s phone and discovered the Reddit messages. Investigators later subpoenaed Reddit, which allegedly linked the deleted account directly to Solomon through his verified email address. The account had been deleted the same day as the meetup. The investigation ultimately led authorities to Solomon and his husband, Brian Paul #Hubrich.
