Something happened to Churchill, later in life.. some say it was due (at least in part) to the massive debts owed by his family to Rothschild banks, some say he was otherwise compelled - it's impossible to know for certain.

This is why he's always been one of the most disappointing and upsetting figures on the historical world stage, to my mind. As this quote (one of many) proves, the young Churchill knew the geopolitical score, well understood the global scene and it's machinations.

It's telling that after he figuratively made his deal with the devil, he'd devote the rest of his life to the bottle, and scarcely have a single sober moment to introspect.
