It's endless- You cross reference oil filter numbers and find a deal on Fleetguard filters to a WIX and the AI says: THIS is the ONE you need. SO I get 6 for about $100 which are much cheaper than paying $30-$60 at Napa which no longer carries WIX made filters and the new ones are Inferior. Napa switched from WIX to Mann. Then after lots of complaints switched to Pgi? but again, there's an issue with the microns- 30 microns versus the 17micron filtering in a WIX. Now mind you I also cross referenced on 2 other sites besides the one selling the filters. Fleetguard has always been a good filter, usually more expensive so I jumped on it. Changed the oil, and finally got the old filter off, compared and just looked like the Fleetguard was a taller filter. Whoopee!!! More filtering- I LOVE that. Some adjusting of obstacles under the Tele and filled the new filter with oil and between shit falling in my face, getting an occasional drip- the damn new filter - I can't get it on. SOB. So Now I get serious in comparing the old and new one...,.... MF!!!!!!!! The air turned blue, wrong thread on the new filter and just slightly bigger. MF! MF! MF!!!! F!F!F!F! insert more &%$·=(&R)"=/·!!! I literally had to drain and put the old filter back on. I did fill with clean oil. The good part was the oil that drained wasn't as dirty as it could be and the old filter wasn't heavy with particulates. My 4 new WIX filters will be here later in the week- well hopefully. Access to the filter requires onver 2' of extensions on a 1/2" breaker bar and is a PITA. In fact, think I'll order another 4 pack. ALL the new replacement filters only filter at 30 microns- I hate China. They're trying to wreck and destroy what we have. nI want that 17 micron filtering in the wix which I also confirmed and since WIX might lower their standards to match, I'll stock up now. So the extra noise you heard with the firewworks yesterday- that was me having a 1st class cussing fit. Out here they banned fireworks- Fire danger- So all the cattle that were spooked and dogs that were cowering in terror and shaking- My Bad- It's my fault. My dogs? As long as it ain't directed in their direction- they could care less. BTW, I will not use a Baldwin filter PERIOD. ONE in a pinch cost me a brand new motor in the 80's. Frams- ugh- too many split or just loosen and fall off. ONLY in a pinch would I use one and then replace it quickly with a WIX or Luberfiner, etc where I've never had a single WIX failure in over 50 years. So, good luck on your new expensive vehicles getting proper filtration. My neighbor just blew up his Ford diesel which he has babied since day one and says it's over $20K to get fixed....F-Fram was heard from his general direction for some time.........
