An important priority to remember! If you look on Wikipedia, you will find it’s part of an even more ambitious initiative: the Megali Idea, which was championed by the Golden Dawn party before its criminalization by the liberal-democratic system. If the President of the United States had more thought out priorities, the February 28 attack would have targeted not Iran, but the longstanding Turkish occupation of northern Cyprus. I expect the Turks would flee to Turkey en masse if their government was dismantled. Of course Cyprus’s occupier is a NATO member, but the guy who drove them out could feign ignorance, “What’s that, we hit Turkish troops? What were they doing in the Republic of Cyprus? As a side note, national consciousness seems to be growing stronger on the island nation: the onetime Golden Dawn ally National People’s Front (ELAM) got its best ever result in the recent Cypriot election. That would make a good first step. The long-term goal is to drive the Turks out of Anatolia altogether, through the historically Greek region of Cappadocia, which is still home to many splendid monuments of Grecian civilization. Of old, the Greek East was just as important to Western Civilization as the Latin West, and We have really been impoverished by confining all the direct heirs of that heritage within just Greece and Cyprus.
