Good evening, my fellow saints. Ahh, the smell of peace is in the air, with yet another promised deal (surely Lucy will hold the football this time). And because you are lucky in a weird way, I am here to share an opinion with you. Please hold your applause until the end...🤭 If, in fact there is any sort of deal to be had, it, IMO, will be driven by two basic considerations. #1. The US does not have the resources to actually win, and trading cheap-ass prefab concrete buildings (remember, this is Iran, not Japan) for $2M Tomahawk missiles is an automatic lose. We have enemies to guard against, so letting Iran, a third-class nation bleed us is stupid. Especially when our enemies are actively monitoring the conflict and learning how to beat us accordingly. #2. Iran is basically a punching bag, it cannot really defend itself in any meaningful way, but it CAN absorb damage short of nuclear strikes. Remember too the eschatology of Shia Islam. They believe their messiah will not return until conditions on the Earth are bad enough to warrant his return. They believe death and destruction to be foretold and desirable, and don't care about the cost of sacrifice. The one thing they have is oil, and they cannot stop from being raped and this resource stripped from them. It may be too late for them to stop Kharg Island from being a US protectorate. https://www.aljazeera.com/news/liveblog/2026/6/13/iran-war-live-us-tehran-signal-peace-deal-within-reach-but-not-signed-yet
