In 1969, the** Ford Aurora II** stunned car enthusiasts as a radical, one-off safety experiment. Built on a Ford LTD Country Squire platform, it was designed by Alfred Juliano through the Aurora Safety Car Project. Its boxy, reinforced nose, recessed wheels, and smooth exterior aimed to reduce injury during crashes. Inside, the car looked more like a padded lounge than a vehicle, with soft surfaces, curved seating, and no sharp edges.
