This StosselTV episode interviews formerly-respected climatologist Roger Pielke Jr, who once published award-winning mainstream climate research that was cited repeatedly by the IPCC, but who also dared to express skepticism about alarmist claims of impending ecological catastrophe, especially by asserting that costs of climate disasters are increasing not because of worsening extreme weather but because more people are building in risky places. Because of this minority viewpoint, Roger soon found himself forced to choose between being popular and being honest---and his persistent integrity resulted in both politicians and academics combining to persecute him, including by closing his successful research facility, relocating his office to a closet, overburdening him with teaching assignments until they stopped giving him any teaching assignments at all, investigating him for allegedly accepting money from petroleum companies (which investigation exonerated him), attacking his character, and censoring his perspective---until he finally left the hostile University of Colorado to resume his research at the American Enterprise Institute instead.
