This Liberty Sentinel article overviews in-depth how the American Revolution was heavily rooted in Biblical Christianity. I might add that Christian doctrine applied to political philosophy (through inspired men like John Locke) is essentially classical liberalism (now called libertarianism), whose "self-evident" truths were marvelously encapsulated in the stirring U.S. Declaration of Independence. I might also add that neither freedom nor virtue can endure well indefinitely without each other.
