The problem with Chinese minks (and fur farming in China in general) are that they are insulated from related bats by at least 500km. Especially minks and raccoon dogs. You can’t farm minks south of the 30N line. https://bj-zhuanlishuju.oss-cn-beijing.aliyuncs.com/战略咨询报告/中国野生动物养殖产业可持续发展战略研究报告.pdf https://www.actasia.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/China-Fur-Report-7.4-DIGITAL-2.pdf Fur farming is in northern China only. Mink fox raccoon dog all only in northeast China—in fact, not even veterinary vaccines for fur animals were manufactured south of the 30N line, including Tibet where, while general vaccines for Botulism were being manufactured, these vaccines were not used on fur animals. Fur farming can not become an origin because fur farming in China ie exclusive to Northern China, where no bats of the right type exist. https://m.paradron.com/redianzhuanti/2018-10-05/10368.html “Fur animals should not be farmed south of the 30 degree N line, as south of this line leads to too high a winter temperature and the fur quality becomes bad, leading to losses” https://web.archive.org/web/20230122004553/https://m.medsci.cn/article/show_article.do?id=27ae30012427 Mink farming is impossible south of the 30N line because the animals stop breeding south of this line. “Mustela Lutreola will stop breeding entirely south of 40N, Neovison Vison will stop breeding entirely south of 30N”. https://www.esdaw.eu/fur-farms.html There are no sequences of RBD or RdRp that are within the SARS-CoV-2 clade north of Yunnan. ZC45 don’t have the right RBD. https://archive.md/OTgBf Exposure to bats are impossible.
