—FREEDOM OF SPEECH IN EXCHANGE FOR PRIVACY, SECURITY, AND ANONYMITY. OH MEIN GOTT!— A self-proclaimed "(((Christian)))" (AndJew Torba) who supposedly champions "#FreeSpeech" blocked me simply because I hold different beliefs. How curious—people who openly talk about watching porn, preferring men over women, or fantasizing about underage anime characters seem perfectly fine—but Heaven forbid you're not (((Christian)))—that's apparently where the line is drawn. On the few occasions I mentioned him and the #Gab team, it was to provide feedback on how the platform works, and I always did so respectfully. I even thanked and congratulated them when they fixed the issues with this social network. My posts on the matter are public. But my beliefs, which should never be a reason for #discrimination or exclusion, seemed to offend him more than any personal insult ever could. Changing the subject, by banning the use of #VPNs—one of the few tools people have to protect their #safety—and by publicly displaying the flags of the countries where users live or are temporarily located, he's effectively making it easier for law enforcement and organizations such as the #ADL, #AJC, #JFNA, and the #FBI in the #UnitedStates, as well as groups like Bundesverband RIAS, ELNET, and the Amadeu Antonio Foundation in #Germany, to track down those labeled as "antisemites," anti-Israel, anti-Jewish, or anti-Zionist. It also makes it easier for German authorities to identify citizens who report crimes committed by immigrants or who oppose what we see as the #invasion of our country. In Germany, people can face prison simply for expressing opinions like disliking the sound of the Adhan or complaining about the noise made by their Senegalese neighbor. #AndrewTorba knows this—and yet he still chose to expose users' locations and ban the use of VPNs, thus effectively revealing our IP addresses and private data. What about sexual predators, stalkers, bullies, religious fanatics, psychopaths, and people who threaten to harm us for what we write? They can now also track us down or dox us. But I suppose that doesn't matter to #Torba's followers, since they're more than willing to hand over their money and strip themselves of any dignity just to please him. Anything, as long as they get access to #AI tools, a place to post memes, and free rein to criticize, insult, and harass whoever they want. Torba clearly doesn't care about the #privacy or safety of Gab users—only about using us. Our data is pure gold in his hands. Did you know that he reached an agreement with the #FBI to grant access to all user data and even connected directly to its reporting system?
