I am certain the severe weather and historic rainfall amounts from Chicago through the Ohio Valley over the last several days has been caused by the smoke from the numerous, massive wildfires up and down California, across the Northern U.S. border, and Canada. All of these 'smoke generators' seem to be strategically located in every direction from which most of the U.S. gets it's cooler, mild, clean air masses. This is weather manipulation at it's fullest! Wildfires can generate tornadoes, lightning and other extreme weather, sometimes miles from the flames 'Smoke can change weather downwind: Wildfire smoke can also affect weather far from the flames. Smoke can travel hundreds or even thousands of miles. Along the way, it can influence how clouds form and how lightning develops.'
