I passed this mound many times before I knew it was a mound. Catawba is a popular fishing spot. Northern WV has many mounds. We even have a county seat called Moundsville. Mainstream #archeology says they were built by Indians in loincloths carrying buckets of dirt. However many giant skeletons were discovered in the same areas. They were widely reported in the 1800s but the #Smithsonian discredited the stories starting in the early 1900s.
