A 57-year-old Louisiana woman, Roxanne Record, was convicted of manslaughter after her 4-year-old granddaughter, China Record, died from acute alcohol poisoning. Authorities found China unresponsive on April 21, 2022, after Roxanne forced her to drink whiskey, Canadian Mist (40% alcohol), believing she may have taken a sip. The girl had a blood alcohol level of 0.68, over eight times the legal limit for adults. Roxanne admitted to her actions, stating "she messed up" and "ruined everyone's lives."
