Schlitz Premium, one of America’s oldest beer brands, is being put "on hiatus" after over 175 years, confirmed by parent company Pabst Brewing Co. Wisconsin Brewing Company will brew the final batch later this month. Pabst's head of brand strategy, Zac Nadile, cited rising storage and shipping costs as reasons for the decision. Founded in 1849 in Milwaukee as the Joseph Schlitz Brewing Company, it became famously known as “the beer that made Milwaukee famous” and was once the nation’s largest brewery until the late 1950s. Schlitz's decline began in the 1970s due to recipe changes. Wisconsin Brewing Company aims to honor the brand with a proper sendoff, brewing the last batch on May 23, with farewell events planned in Milwaukee. #craftbeer #Schlitz #PabstBrewing #WisconsinBrewing #Milwaukee https://youtu.be/0a7wGkHkT4E?si=_PLrz1HQeFaeeogV
