A magnitude 5.6 earthquake struck north of Ukiah, Mendocino County, at 8:10 a.m. on June 24, 2026, causing reported injuries, power outages, and water service disruptions for thousands. Initially recorded as a magnitude 6, it was later downgraded. The quake's epicenter was near Willits, in mostly unpopulated land, with at least a dozen aftershocks detected, mostly below 2.5 magnitude. Governor Gavin Newsom has been briefed and is coordinating with emergency officials on damage assessments. State Sen. Mike McGuire noted there were no major infrastructure damages reported in Ukiah or Willits, but outages were affecting essential services. Local residents reported items knocked off shelves and visible damage in some grocery stores. #emergencyservices #Mendocino #earthquake #aftershocks #disasterresponse #MendocinoCounty #disasterrelief #California #emergencyresponse #naturaldisaster #communitysupport https://youtu.be/oYYcjaeUGDU?si=ZSwThD2creq8Gcwi
