Vandalism during the San Francisco Trans March on Friday led to five arrests and injuries to two officers. Officers observed vandalism at Market and 8th streets, and while attempting to detain suspects, they faced obstruction from a crowd. Three were arrested for assault and vandalism, and two for obstructing police. SFPD emphasized respect for protest rights but condemned criminal acts. State Senator Scott Wiener reported being harassed at the event over his views on Israel and Gaza, claiming he was surrounded and verbally and physically assaulted. He also recounted a previous confrontation at a bar.
