Law enforcement in San Juan County is seeking two men connected to a burglary on San Juan Island in May. The suspects allegedly stole a safe containing credit cards, jewelry worth several thousand dollars, and documents from a home. Surveillance footage showed one suspect knocking on the door, then running off with the safe. One stolen credit card was later used at a jewelry store in Everett, and pictures of the second suspect were captured. Sheriff Eric Peter emphasized the importance of securing homes, noting that the crime was a "crime of opportunity." He encouraged residents to lock doors and install surveillance cameras.
