1 Killed, 3 Missing After Boat Sinks in SF Bay Near Alcatraz; Rescue Underway SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- A boat incident in the San Francisco Bay near Alcatraz on Tuesday afternoon has resulted in one confirmed death and three missing individuals. The boat, carrying mostly family members for a memorial service, sank between the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz. Of the 20 adults onboard, 16 were rescued, while sadly, one person has died, and a dog also perished. San Francisco Fire Department received a call post-3:30 p.m. regarding a fire on the pontoon-type boat. Mayor Daniel Lurie referred to the operation as an "all-hands-on-deck" mission.
