I like to play the game Fortnite with my 20 year old daughter. We have a lot of fun. I'm always trying to get better so I watch better players. I watch a streamer from Europe -- a young woman about my daughter's age. She's very good. I will occasionally comment or ask a question. I dared use my real name for a year or two in the channel and last night when I said "Hi" in the channel -- I was banned. I asked why -- and this was the response: "Got curious the other day and looked you up and didn't (SIC)realise you were praising Rush Limbaugh, a blatant sexist, racist and homophobic, and wondered why you would do something like that, but then it made all sense after looking into you further and found you to have the same believes, makes me wonder why twitch chose to partner you. (SIC)Ayways, bye." There you go. Because I'm a conservative, some young person in Europe who probably never heard Rush speak a word has decided I can't be in the community. Wil this change my life? Nope. Will I lose sleep? Nope. It's the principle. The hate exuded by not really the left -- they're open about it -- but by those who have been gaslit by them is stunning. Truly. #CancelCulture is real. The wildest part to me is -- they think they're right.
