@Heartiste Socialist initiatives have been effective at breaking down social structure, but I think the most important one was the birth control pill (followed by abortion). I was a teen when the female fear of pregnancy from fooling around began to decline (Free Love, man!). There were still momentary pangs of terror in the act when a girl said she was "late", but soon human responsibility and seriousness on this most basic level abruptly disappeared. When the creative act became a mere search and finding of orgasm, so much meaningfulness in life also vanished.
