@TrevorGoodchild An outright US army vs its citizens war would be ... interesting. Last I heard, every base here in the States relies on civilian contractors for damned near everything: food, fuel, you name it. How hard would it be to slip a little something into daily food shipments? Add a little sugar to the fuel shipments? You really wouldn't hardly have to resort to much violence. Quiet sabotage would gum up most of the hardware. Also, I have to assume that in such a situation there is going to be a lot of unrest in the cities, which means a lot of manpower is going to be diverted to maintaining some semblance of order there, which means less manpower available to deal with those awful insurgents. Add in the random power outages, water plants going off line, and most of all, no safe rear zone. No rotating tired soldiers back home to rest every 12 or 18 months. Everywhere will be the front lines, the enemy could be anyone, and they all look like any of the other 190 million whites in the country. The cherry on top? A good chunk of your soldiers are going to be single moms, minorities who only joined out of boredom or for the signing bonus, illegals who only wanted citizenship but don't give a shit about American values, and slack jawed paste eaters that would have made McNamara's Morons look like chest grandmasters. How many of them are going to stand and fight when it's nut crackin time? Hell, how many are goin to stick around when they haven't been paid for a couple weeks and the food starts to run out or go bad? How many are just going to say "fuck this" and slip away when no one is looking? System pigs are awful people, but they're not very loyal when not paid or sufficiently supported. Naw, the hard part would be dealing with the surveillance done by the CIA/FBI/NSA, etc. I believe they have things like that giant server farm out in nowhere Idaho or Utah. Dealing with the tanks and jets would be relatively easy. Dealing with the 24/7 electronic surveillance and drone coverage could be trickier.
