BTW, WHILE WE'RE ON THE SUBJECT of Ukraine and Washington's gross irresponsibility, I must observe that the Biden administration's sabotage of the Nordstream pipelines is an act of war-- it is, functionally, a blockade, intended to thwart Russia's ability to conduct trade with European countries. At the same time, it is meant to thwart the ability of European countries to trade with Russia. The pathetic effort of the Biden apologists to argue that Russia sabotaged its own pipelines should need no debunking among thinking people. For the rest, suffice it to simply point out that shutting off the gas to Europe by Russia merely required the closing of a valve-- which Russia had already done a few weeks ago, after enormous, long-lasting restraint despite endless European provocations-- not the destruction of the pipelines; and keeping available the "carrot" of resumed delivery was critically-important to Russia being able to benefit from the shut-off "stick".
