31 Million Americans Are Still Taking Boosters. Under 9% of the Country. The Government Spent Over $2 Billion on Them Anyway. A billion to Pfizer, another billion to Moderna — for a seventh booster almost nobody wants. CDC won't publish uptake numbers, so the McCullough Foundation reverse-engineered it from sales data, cost per dose, and wastage. Under 9% participation can't produce a population-level benefit even in theory. And the people still in that 9% are largely the ones with the least choice: children, because it's on the schedule, and healthcare and front-facing workers who take it to keep their jobs.
