Last year, the "Downtown Days Festival" in Lee's Summit, Missouri (Kansas City suburb) devolved into a "teen takeover" crime scene so the local police posted the text in quotes below prior to this year's event. "We coordinated several proactive safety and security measures with event organizers, including: -Increased police staffing -Layout adjustments to improve crowd flow -Camera trailers and additional lighting -Increased private security -Reduced event hours -Adjustments to carnival size, focusing on rides for children under 12" None of that mattered at all. The festival this year once again devolved into another "teen takeover" and 3 separate police agencies had to be called in to disperse the crowd and to stop the mass criminal activity. 2 "teens" were arrested. Nothing will happen. I'll be posting about this event next year again.
