THE EXTRA-JUDICIAL EXECUTION OF WILLIAM JOYCE January 3 was the 79th anniversary of the extra-judicial execution (that is, murder) of the National Socialist martyr & Aryan hero William Joyce. Joyce was born in New York City in 1906, which made him an American citizen. He was raised mostly in Ireland & then as a young adult he moved to England. During the 1930s, Joyce was a leading personality in the British National Socialist & fascist movement. When the UK declared war on National Socialist Germany in 1939, he flew to Berlin & offered his services as a publicist to the Germans. He made numerous English-language radio broadcasts during the War in support of the National Socialist cause. At the end of the War, he was captured & put on trial by the British as a traitor. However, the British court had no legitimate jurisdiction over Joyce, because he was legally an Americn citizen & thus could not be tried for "treason" to the United Kingdom. Legal niceties aside, Joyce was executed by hanging on Jan, 3, 1946, at HM Prison Wandsworth in London.
