MOVEMENT HISTORY American National Socialist groups have traditionally included a self-defense arm. Such formations were made necessary by the violence directed against NS activities & headquarters by Jewish extremists & radical far-left groups. Notable examples of such self-defense units include the Ordnungsdienst (OD or "Order Division") of the pre-World War II German-American Bund & the Stormtroops of the American Nazi Party/National Socialist White People's Party (1959-1982). Other examples could be given.
