June 8 - On this day in 1789, James Madison introduced the Bill of Rights to the US Congress. Among other things, it guaranteed the right of free speech, the right to peacefully assemble, freedom of the press, freedom of religion, the right to keep & bear arms, the right against self-incrimination, & the prohibition of "cruel & unusual punishment." James Madison believed in the integrity & superiority of the White race. He actively supported the movement to return freed Negro slaves to Africa. Unlike other Founding Fathers, he was not a Freemason. #JamesMadison #WhiteHistory #AmericanHistory #BillOfRights
