Okay, what the actual fuck. So yesterday, after I saw the news about the third 1/6 cop "committing suicide", I looked up statistics on cop suicide to see whether this was way outside the norm...here's what I came up with: Nationwide, in 2018, out of 686,000 full time cops, 167 killed themselves. 167/686,000 = ~0.0002434. So, a rate of about 0.24 per 1,000, per year. Now, in DC, where about 1,400 cops were on duty on Jan. 6th...4 so far have killed themselves. The disparity should already be obvious, but... 4/1400 = ~0.002857, or: About 2.86 per 1,000 cops...and we're only halfway through the year. That's already well over TEN TIMES THE 2018 NATIONAL SUICIDE RATE FOR COPS PER YEAR...and the year is barely half over. ...Did these officers see something, or hear something, and make it obvious that they weren't going to keep quiet about it?
