if this bill passes the Senate and is signed into law, privacy and free speech are done for on the internet. Period. You will be required to ID verify for everything on the internet. Everything you say or do, every singular click, could be tied back to your government identity. That could impact you in extreme ways, from being denied credit or loans over political opinions or being shadowbanned by the entire internet for expressing opinions the system doesn't like. This is literally the digital ID everyone fears, just under a different name and implementation. You need to contact your senators and the White House ASAP and urge them both to oppose this bill. It benefits nobody but the surveillance machine. It actually puts children in greater danger, while destroying the right of law-abiding citizens to have privacy. It's a"papers please" philosophy to gate the entire digital world. This is the most dangerous and anti-American legislation the House of Representatives has ever passed.
