As President Lyndon Johnson signed a landmark immigration reform bill into law at a ceremony beneath the Statue of Liberty on October 3, 1965, he predicted the legislation would not significantly affect the life of the nation, but unfortunately like the lookouts in the crow's nest of the Titanic he did not see the "iceberg, right ahead"! America has been sinking ever since and she is mortally "wounded" like that of the great ship.
