🔥 THE FIRE COULD NOT DEFEAT ST. LAWRENCE. When pagan Rome demanded the treasures of the Church, St. Lawrence pointed to the poor. When they threatened his life, he refused to surrender Christ. And when they placed him upon the fiery gridiron, tradition remembers him saying: “I am done on this side. You can turn me over now.” How could a man face martyrdom with such courage? Because a greater fire was already burning within him—the fire of love for God. ❤️‍🔥✝️ That is the lesson for us today.
