Pope Benedict XVI later warned of radical secularism threatening the Church’s public moral witness. And today the battle over marriage, life, family, sexuality, and religious liberty is impossible to ignore. The question is not whether the culture has changed. It has. The question is whether Catholics will remain Catholic when standing firm means standing nearly alone. Fulton Sheen saw the direction of travel.
