VA WARNS VETERANS: DON’T FALL FOR THIS POSTCARD SCAM 08/12/2026 — The Department of Veterans Affairs is warning veterans about scam postcards showing up in mailboxes across the country. The cards may promise additional VA benefits and urge veterans to call immediately. Once contact is made, scammers may praise the veteran’s military service to build trust before asking for Social Security numbers, banking information or other personal data. The VA says veterans should never provide sensitive information to someone they don’t know or trust. If you receive one of these suspicious postcards, don’t call the number printed on it. Verify anything involving your benefits through official VA channels. Report suspected scams through VSAFE at 1-833-38V-SAFE.
