Story time: I went to a hardware store this morning to buy some wood. I'll be buying 2 pallets of concrete and need to have them dropped on pallets that are jack capable. I start walking into the lumber yard, as I've regularly done, when I'm stopped by the gate guard. Shitwawnda tells me I can't enter that way, I need to go through the store. Alright, this is new, so I ask how long that's been a thing. Apparently she's been working there about a month, because it's been that way as long as she's worked there. Anyway, I ask a couple managers about this. Supposedly random people have been going into the yard and just walking around so now you are only allowed into the yard through the store. Obviously someone who wants to randomly walk through a lumber yard won't be willing to randomly walk through a store first to do that. ~85%+ of the managers there are women. Go figure. Remind me again, why do we let women work in hardware stores to begin with? #Culture #Rants
