I know some people who absolutely hate leaves. "They're messy," they say, "and kill my lawn." Quite fortunately, our lawn is as natural as they come, and the leaves are an annual gift to keep it healthy. What we don't leave on the ground we rake up to put around the trees, or in the compost pile, expressing gratitude in our hearts for this amazing resource that nature provides every year. And honestly, who can resist the crackling "swish" as you walk through a cluster of dried leaves? Doesn't that take you back to being a nine-year-old again?
