It was September 30 September 30: On this day in 1905, Maximiani Julia Portas was born in Lyon, France. She later adopted the pen name "Savitri Devi." Savitri Devi was a leading National Socialist author, philosopher, activist & publicist. She wrote numerous essays & articles on National Socialism, including four books: Gold In the Furnace, The Lightning & the Sun, Defiance & Pilgrimage. She was also a well-known animal rights advocate. She died in England in 1982, at age 77.
