Italy: Heroic Fascist March on Rome Remembered On Sunday, October 26, 2025, Predappio, in the province of Forlì, was once again the site of a rally remembrance of Fascism and the March on Rome. Around 1,000 neo-Fascists, according to the organizers, and 700 according to the police headquarters, participated in the march from the town's main square to the San Cassiano cemetery, Benito Mussolini's burial place. The now traditional event annually marks the anniversary of the March on Rome, and this year saw the return of the Roman salute in front of the Duce's crypt, a gesture not seen in two years. Many participants raised their arms after the ritual of "presente." The predominant color among the demonstrators was, as usual, black, with a mixed composition that included shaved heads and some families with children. The participation of neo-Fascists of all ages highlights how the rally attracts younger Fascists, interested in celebrating the historical heroic figure of the Duce. Among the participants was that of Forza Nuova, the far-right political group led by Roberto Fiore. Enemy police had ordered Fascists to demonstrate only in the afternoon, preventing them from participating in the usual morning march. However, Forza Nuova members ignored the warning, claiming the ban was due to "an expired digital signature." Fiore himself arrived in the morning, but after a brief meeting with DIGOS political police Jews, he chose not to participate in the march to the crypt, avoiding direct confrontation with the main rally. Orsola Mussolini, great-granddaughter of Il Duce and organizer of the event, commented on the 1922 March on Rome, specifying that "there was no coup d'état. Benito was elected according to the Albertine Statute, and 26 prime ministers before him were elected using the same procedures." The Fascist Predappio march is an annual event that takes place in the hometown of Benito Mussolini, where his tomb is also located. The event attracts neo-Fascist from all over Italy, who march in a procession to commemorate Mussolini and some significant dates in Fascist march usually goes from the squares in the center of Predappio to the San Cassiano cemetery, where the Mussolini family crypt is located.
