In May 1939, the Group for Pastoral Care released a document called "Prayers for the Führer during Military Church Services.":

Bless our German Volk ... Plant deep in our hearts our love for the Fatherland. Let us be a heroic race worthy of our ancestors. May we protect the faith of our fathers like a holy legacy. Bless the German Wehrmacht, which is called to guard peace and protect home and hearth, and grant its members the power to make the highest sacrifice for Führer, Volk, and Fatherland. Bless especially our Führer and Supreme Commander in all the tasks that come to him. May all of us under his leadership see in the sacrifice for Volk and Fatherland a holy task, so that through our faith, our obedience and our loyalty, we reach the eternal home in the Kingdom of your light and peace. Amen.
