Every libertarian I know opposes poverty. Every libertarian I know would love to see child hunger ended, and love to see a world in which nobody dies of hunger or thirst through no fault of their own. Every libertarian I know donates to charity. Every libertarian I know is eager to help the truly needy and do their part to help create equality of opportunity, including by eagerly volunteering to voluntarily help people who have been unfairly struck by bad luck, if not, worse, victimized by another human. Nobody is saying that they don't want people to have access to basic living resources. But what they are saying is this: Nobody has the right to anyone else's body or labor. You don't have the right to enslave others. You don't have the right to use non-consensual non-defensive violence against peaceful people, no matter how charitable your goal. Nobody has a problem with the proposed ends (e.g. poor people not being poor and hungry kids being fed). But many, including all freedom-supporting peace-lovers, have a problem with your means to that end if those means entail committing or having an alleged right to commit non-consensual non-defensive violence against your fellow human. #Peace #Freedom #NonAggression #NonAggressionPrinciple #TheNAP #VoluntaryCharity #Voluntaryism
