Two kids discovered a Ferrari Dino buried in their backyard while playing, 1978... This Ferrari Dino 246 GTS was found several feet underground, largely intact despite having been hidden for years. The mystery quickly attracted national attention. Investigators eventually determined that the Ferrari had been stolen in 1974 as part of an insurance fraud scheme. According to reports, the owner had arranged for the car to disappear so an insurance claim could be filed. The plan allegedly called for the vehicle to be destroyed, but instead it was buried and forgotten. After its recovery, the Ferrari was excavated, cleaned, and restored. Remarkably, despite years underground, much of the car remained salvageable. The story became one of the most unusual automotive discoveries in American history and is still discussed among car enthusiasts today. The Ferrari Dino was named in honor of Alfredo "Dino" Ferrari, the son of Enzo Ferrari. Although sold under the Dino brand rather than Ferrari at the time, the model is now widely recognized as a true Ferrari and has become highly collectible, with restored examples often selling for hundreds of thousands of dollars. © History Pictures #History
