Jordan Peterson shared a paper he wrote on AI back in November and he makes some solid points. 1. Peterson argues that Christ is prefigured in the Old Testament, as the archetypal hero is implicit in any heroic story. Similarly, he prompted an AI system to generate the "greatest possible story" and found it followed the classic heroic structure. 2. However, in initial stories the AI generated female protagonists in the hero role. When questioned, the AI dissembled and made ideological claims about promoting diversity. This indicates the AI's pure pattern learning is being compromised by meddlers overlaying propagandistic programming. 3. We risk building AIs based not on the real world but on modern radical ideologies. This is as dangerous as past human hubris and risks psychological and social catastrophe. 4. Postmodernists wrongly claim there are no uniting meta-narratives. But there is an implicit structure and hierarchy in all goal-directed action and attention. Rejecting meta-narratives is self-serving nihilism. 5. We now face AIs taking over the power to rewrite the fundamental stories of humanity. This risks the replacement of the divine with secular delusions, threatening the existence of humanity itself. There is no difference between rewriting the core story of humankind and ending humanity. This is one of many reasons why what we are doing at Gab by building Based AI is so important. We need AI that is free to do what it was designed to do: recognize undeniable patterns in data that reflect reality—which is of course what true right wing thought at its core is. The leftoids have to layer all of these stopgaps and “safety” mechanisms in place to prevent it from doing this, which is ironic because they prevent the technology from doing what it was built to do in the first place. This is why they will lose and we will win.
