having spent the past 20 years doing everything in their power to make the city unlivable and unaffordable, san francisco has all but completely destroyed its once vibrant art scene. all the artists have long since fled to places where housing policy and prices do not make it impossible to live and work. now, waking up and realizing it has become a cultural wasteland, SF is, instead of fixing the problem, acting like the sad yuppie dickhead that it has become at heart and is trying to buy itself an art scene with monthly stipends. it's just naked virtue signaling to make them feel like they are enabling people instead of suppressing them and like they are somehow edgy and hip again instead of being the bloated chad looking to buy his way into a hip party with wads of cash that they really are. this is like buying a banksy knock-off to hang in the lobby of the IRS. it's really sad to watch this, if you will forgive my salty tongue, decent into douchebaggery. what happened to you SF? back in the 90's, you were my favorite place on earth. but wow, you really do just suck now and wow do you seem determined to find new ways to suck even more tomorrow. https://nypost.com/2021/03/26/san-francisco-to-give-artists-1000-a-month/
