It's such a #waste to build new #stadiums to replace current ones. The original placidity put out on the rational to spend billions of dollars to build these new stadiums is because of increased increased seating, “new looks” or advance comfort and convenience. None of these things are true. The fact is that the only reasons for building and replacing #beautiful #comfortable sports arenas is either a current owner’s lust to leave a #legacy that he or she is not worthy of, or to build incentive to have #leagues hold their #special_events there, such as super bowls, olympics etc. In the end it shows when the #millionaire_owners of these venues feel a strange need to have state and federal government chip in for the expense. Most of the stadiums and arenas being replaced are perfectly good places for sporting events but owners would prefer to #spend_money to build #replacement venues and spend more for maintenance on them. Regardless of #publicity, places like the Astrodome, Shea Stadium, Candlestick Park and many other good arenas had been replaced uselessly so that owners could alter history in their favor and win league #contracts, cause teams to move excessively and disappoint millions of fans. The mainstream media has been very compliant in formulating #excuses for all this #unnecessary construction.
