In comparison to Judaism (1000 BC) and later Christianity, the faith of the Æsir is much older (3000 BC) and far more beautiful. Odin dates back to 1333 BC and Thor to 3000 BC. The believers in the Æsir came from Troy in western Turkey, much farther north than the area where Baal was worshipped (1300 BC) and later Jehovah (1000 BC), around what is now Jerusalem. This refers to the people who believed in Baal in the Jerusalem area. Troy was a vast and powerful kingdom with twelve kings, located in the northwest, while the Hittites were in the north. To the south were the Egyptians. The Hittites and the Egyptians met with massive armies right where Jerusalem now stands. They were evenly matched, so they made a peace treaty, which can still be seen today in the British Museum. Troy also made a peace treaty with the Hittites, who were east of Troy. These are the circumstances in which the belief in Baal, and later Judaism or Jehovah, emerged—positioned between three huge empires, dominated by them and absorbing influence from them. Troy is very ancient and also had a significant influence on the Jerusalem area. Thor is the son of a Trojan king from around 3000 BC. Much later, Odin was born around 1333 BC and was also a former Trojan king, following the great fall of Troy around 1400 BC. What is significant about Odin is that he found a way to take all the dead with him to Godheima, or the home of the gods. After death, everyone would go unconditionally to Godheima. There was no need to pray, no need to seek forgiveness, and no need for sacrifice. Why was this so easy for the Trojans, or the Æsir as they were called? It was because of the extensive legal system from Troy and their Thing. Troy was so large that it had twelve kings and a Thing to manage the legal systems for all its people. For Odin, making it possible for everyone to come to heaven was a natural and common thing to do. But for the people in the Jerusalem area, who had no laws and no culture of justice, they implemented control over their society through punishment within their faith, as seen in the worship of Baal and later Judaism. So when they heard of Odin’s way, they changed it. They adapted it to fit their own god, Baal, and later Yahweh. You cannot go to heaven unless you make sacrifices, and later, with Christ, you cannot go to heaven except through Christ. #Æsir #Odin #Thor #Troy #AncientHistory #Paganism #Godheima #Baal #Judaism #Christianity #AncientFaith #NorseGods #HistoryUncovered #Hittites #Yahweh #Jerusalem
